The Italian Greyhound:
With a lineage dating back to anchient Egypt this fine breed has been found in many tombs of pharaohs. Typically adorned with necklaces and other fine jewelry, both mummies and tomb drawings depict the Italian Greyhound as being a favorite among Egyptian aristocracy. Due to great popularity during the renaissance, the name "Italian" was acquired. The IG, (IGGY) has for centuries been a favorite among royals. Used once even to poison troops using poison pins on its jeweled collar. They have served King, Queen and layman alike. It is with great pride that I share my life with not one, but two Italian Greyhounds. I can truely say that this is a fine breed. They act much more like children than dogs. I treat them as my children.
