| William Shearer Died 3 April 1844 Thurso. This date may come from a MI and there is possibly a family burial plot in Troston cemetery I have been unable to find his death certificate or discover who his parents were or when he was born with any certainlty William at the time of his marriage in 1795 was Tenant of Forss and Overseer to Capt James Sinclair of Holborn Head , Laird of Forss. (I am told that Shearer was a Sept of the Sinclair Clan) Married Janet Milne born 23 March 1775 , daughter of Alexander Milne and Jean Kynock of Fyfie Aberdeen. Proclamation of Banns in Thurso on 15 Nov 1795; Marriage in Reay on 27 Nov 1795 witnessed by William Milne of Holbornhead and William Manson of Pennyland. |

| ( It is difficult to be certain which Donald and Margaret Campbell she belonged to. There is a marriage entry for Donald Cambell of Tongside and Margaret Campbell at Halkirk 25 Feb 1800.. However according to IGI. the Barbara born of that union , one of 9 children, was christened 21 Sept 1810. I also have a certificate for Donald Campbell , a wright( carpenter ) of Wick and his wife Margaret Campbell baptising a child Barbara on 21 Nov 1806.)
