HESPELER
A9 & QR Quick Response Review
FRONT VIEW

As you can see there is not too much diference in size. Both are 11.5 to 12 inches across. The side profiles are different (see other pages for photos). Materials are pretty much the same except that the A9 uses some type of rubber/nylon on the front where the Hespeler Logo is.

The raised side pad is different. The A9 is angled which redirects the pucks, the downfall from this is you tend to have more rebounds. The Quick Response is a square style allowing the puck to drop which limits rebounds or accidental deflections into the net.

The thigh board is slightly different on both. The A9 is larger, flat and square. It tends to flop around and sometimes gets in the way. The Quick Response has a better board which is curved and a little smaller which allows a goalie to either tuck it under the leg of the pants or have it over. It also does not flop around as easy becuase it is molded to your thigh. The top is slightly angled which is great because it does not get tangled with the other pad when standing or in the butterfly position.
