Day 31,

August 22, 2003.

Spending time in Spokane2

In the morning, before leaving to work, Jen gave me her debit card with the pin number so I could buy the tensioner.

I spent several hours on the Internet before going to the store.

I took off the bags off the bike and rolled down the hill to the auto parts store.

I was amazed by how easy it was to ride!!! Holy cow! With so much efficiency and ease, I could significantly increase the daily distance.

In the evening, I put the tensioner in place and the car was ready to be cranked. But since the battery was discharged, we had to ask a neighbor to give us a boost. After we made sure the engine was running, we decided to change the oil. Jen and Hilary went to the store to buy it and in 20 minutes the car was ready. After that we drove to Safeway and bought some Spaghetti.

While Jen and Hilary were cooking them in the Kitchen, I played some car racing game on the play station.

Spaghetti tasted seriously good and we ate on the porch. Hilary’s husband Dave (if I’m not mistaking), started talking about things he learned or have heard in the army.

Particularly, he described this new invention of future generation camouflage. Supposedly it’s a special clothes made of fabric that reflect nearly 99% of light making a person almost invisible.

He also claimed that he heard of new type of combat weapon that supposedly uses laser beams, just like in Star Wars.

Another friend and neighbor of Jen, Elanie, joined us on the porch. After eating, she invited us to watch the movie in her apartment. The movie wasn’t really interesting, or something, so we ended up talking.

Elanie sounded like a very intelligent person. She is a mother of a little daughter, 2 or 3 years old.

So, Elanie’s story was about a mysterious incident that happened in her apartment some time ago.

She lived downstairs, kind of like in the basement, alone with her daughter.

One time, she was taking a shower and noticed that the door opened up somehow. She walked out to look and found out that her daughter was sleeping and then woke up and started crying. So it was unexplained to her, who opened the shower door. She was convinced that it is an example of some supernatural abnormalities.

Today – few miles of riding (to auto parts store).
