Scooter's Indoor Speed Club completed its 2000/2001 indoor season on March 28th 2001. With most members in attendance, the Scooter's coach led skaters through the normal routine workouts. Some of the highlights included the 100 meter races, where Andrew Hegarty edged out Herb Gayle for the crown in the pair-elimination race series. Wayne Burrett took Peter Doucet to the line as Peter struggled with a few problems of his own. Frankee Kubath gave Lanny Totten a run for his money, but it was Lanny prevailing, and Ann Lesage out skated Frank Kubath for the final berth in the top 8. Good job everybody. Ann also skated a personal best 13.84 for a 1 lap sprint with her hot new wheels.

This season was a lot of fun from a coaching and from a skating standpoint. I learned a lot from each skater who laced up, and I hope to take all I've learned from indoors to coaching outdoors with Toronto InLine. I would like to say that it was nice to see everybody putting in a lot of work and energy into this sport. I know that when we find ourselves on the floor after a nice fall, it is hard to get back up, but everybody at Scooter's did. This energy and joy while skating is a great thing to see. Let's see how far it will take you and our great sport.
