| The third of three RSO (Roller Sports Ontario) Inter-Club meets took place on March 24th in Mississauga. The event took place at Scooter's Roller Palace, home of the Scooter's Indoor Speed Club. For the RSO Inter-Club meets, it is the first time in a number of years that the event took place outside of its usual grounds in Cambridge. The event, according to one of the officials, was perhaps one of or the most successful Inter-Club meet. Racing was fast paced as skaters of all levels and abilities competed in age groups. The J.O. A and J.O. B categories were packed with newcomers who had never raced a single day before. Austin Belchos and Jeff Burnside went toe-to-toe in all of their events, with Burnside taking the overall win. Chelsea Parry was able to take the win in the Junior A by beating club mates Tasha Burnside, as well as top 3 finishers Lindsay and Kerry Chard. The Master A category was won by Ed Duncan, who had to fight off the challenges coming from Carla Raetsen, Beth Clarke, and Jacquie Raetsen. Bruce Desmond and Paul Robbins mixed things up quite a bit in the front as well. Jamie Mack won the Senior A category over rival Peter Doucet and Herb Gayle. Eric Gee, Scott Anderson, and Benoit Joubert provided excitement for the onlookers. The RSO Inter-Club meets have provided exciting racing for skaters to keep tuned up and for beginners looking at entering the sport. Of course, all the volunteers did a fabulous job in keeping the event right on time and being prompt with results. Click here to go to the photo gallery to find photos and videos.
