The Bloodline Enchantment
"If a Pure human should ever sit on Tara's throne, Tara shall fall. The skies will darken and the rivers will run with blood. The doorway to the Dark Ireland shall be open and all will be destroyed"

That was the curse that the Morganna spoke upon the finish of The Battle of the Trees. If High Queen Dierdriu's heir was pure human and took the throne Tara should fall, there was nothing anyone could do, but make sure that Tara's Heir was not pure human. The High Queen approached the sorceror's and asked for an enchantment. An enchantment that would allow the nobility of Tara to lay with the animals of Ireland and create offspring that were not quite human and not quite animal.

So the Sorcerors worked until the endless hours of the night trying to perfect the enchantment, and eventually they did. The eve of the creation a procession headed out to the Plain of Fal and a large cermony began. The creatures of Ireland were called up with an enchantment called the Samhilt or Mindsong, an enchantment that each of the bloodline was gifted with. The samhilt allowed the host to call upon the animals of their bloodline, as well as read others thoughts. The animals were called to the Plain and the six members of the Nobilty chose their animals and the enchantment was carried out. A few months later the offspring were born, creating the ancient blooodlines of Tara.

The Bloodlines of Tara

The six noble houses of Tara each chose their own bloodline. After the first enchantment, the cermony had to be carried out at regualr intervals so the animal blood did not fade out. Besides the six major houses the bloodline was also bestowed upon minor houses of Tara for sevices carried out for the good of Tara.
