Knightly Thoughts

Defy Not the Heart This was the first Lindsey book that I read and it made a huge impression on me. The characters are memorable, and there is so much in here that gives them a sense of reality, even laughter! Reina has to find a husband to secure her own lands from would be theives, and when she finds the magnificent knight Ranulf, who is her kidnapper, she makes him a deal...become my husband and I'll make you a great lord. Through many trials and head-strong arguments they find the ground they need to make it work, but to totally please her, he's got to find a way to let her enjoy their time together!

Joining This story brings back the characters from Defy Not the Heart as friends of the main characters .

Mili was a wild and head-strong girl who hated dressing as a female and the things that went along with her responsiblility of being the oldest daughter to her father. Especially the betrothal that was set when she was born! Wulfric is a beast of a man with a temperment to go with his size, or so she thinks, and is convinced they won't work together. But how can she get everybody around her to see things her way so that they can call off this marriage? Not to mention someone seems intent on seeing her dead for reasons no one can fathom.

As they spend time together she starts seeing Wulf in the eyes of others, as a caring man that protects his people, and inevitably cares for her! How much more can she resist accepting what he's offering her? Will it change once they are joined? Will they survive the attempts on her life?
