To Catch an Heiress
Julia Quinn
Caroline Trent has been passed from guardian to guardian since the death of her parents, and her latest pathetic excuse for a "relative" is trying to get her to marry his measly son Percy. She's determined not to fall into this nasty trap and after shooting Percy makes her escape from the oppressive home.
Unfortunately for her, or perhaps fortunately, she's mistaken for a spy and is taken prisoner by the handsome Blake Ravenscroft, who works for the crown. She's hungry for the goodness he shows her so quickly and he's confused about the things she's making him feel.
From one fiasco to the next they are hurtled together and are forced to figure out what exactly it is they feel for each other.
The story is great, full of laughs and such. The heroine is full of surprises and I feel poor Blake just didn't have a chance against her! :) I'm eager to read another of Ms. Quinn's novels!
