MORNING IS THE LONG WAY HOME

This time of year can be breathtakingly beautiful in this part of the country. On clear mornings the sun backslights her (Mt Washinton) and from my deck I can easily see her outline and the glistening of her glaciers.

Across the valley sometimes the first rays reflect, from a window, like a fire, silently announcing that God has decreed another day. The mornings are cool but there is still an occasional balloon, and the brightness of the day will be hard to remember, when the greys of winter approach.

But this day has that feel of fall. There's a fireplace or two working and the dry air spreads the scent all around.

Near sundown as the air seperates the light into its colors she will take on a pale dusty pink hue, its over 130 miles away and her profile is clear. The dark has already reached the valley but she holds her head high basking  in God's light marking another day. With scenes as this around its easy to remember that all the days belong to God...
