The Observatron Towers Over Tomorrowland
- The only Tomorrowland ride to survive from Opening Day 1955 is ironically the one most grounded in the present. But the thrill of driving an ordinary, everyday automobile has kept the Autopia a favorite of underage drivers for over forty years.
- A look at the 1955 roster of Tomorrowland attractions reveals some weird names: Space Station X-1, Hall of Chemistry, Circarama, U.S.A., the Dutch Boy Exhibit, and The World Beneath Us. (Disneyland, Dreams, Traditions, and Transitions) - search for it on amazon.com
- It cost 23,000,000 dollars to renovate Tomorrowland in 1967(!) (Disneyland, The First Quarter Century) - search for it on amazon.com
- "America Sings," which once occupied the carousel theater, was perhaps the least "tomorrow" of all Tomorrowland attractions. It was conceived as a look at the musical history of America in celebration of the Bicentennial in 1976. The cast was a rather large group of singing Audio-Animatronic animals. After the ride closed, most of the animals were moved to Splash Mountain.
