From his plans for the future to trips to the dentist, there was nothing you didn't want to know about Scotty C!

What did it feel like to get No. 1 in the first week?

It was unbelieveable. I didn't really expect it. I was in Brisbane on the promo tour and I got a phone call from Matt (Medcraf, the Popstars judge - Ed.) It was like 12.30 or something and I was in bed. He said, "I'm just rining to tell you you're No. 1" and I was like (puts on tired, disinterested voice), "Yeah, yeah, good". It didn't even register. But I woke up and was liike (more excitedly), "Yeah! No.1!"

What does it feel like to be famous?

It feels like of weird. Sometimes when you're walking down the street, you see people looking at you, and you know what they're looking at you for. Some people stop me and go, "Hey, you're that guy from Popstars!" It feels weird but it's a good feeling as well.

When is your album coming out?

In August or Septemeber. I've written one song on it so far. It's kind of a dance song. It's got a bit of a beat to it. It's really funky. We've been going through a whole bunch of other songs until we get stuff together for the album. It'll be good.

Who is your favourite skateboarder?
Max, ACT
Gino Iannucci. He's just got the good style. He's been around forever. He's part of the Chocolate team. Jason Lee as well, cos he went from skateboarding to acting.

How do you feel about Danielle bringing a song out?

I'm stocked. I'm happy for her. Just because I'm the winner doesn't mean she can't do something, can't have a career.

What was the first thing you did after winning?

It was all pretty rush rush after that. The first thing they did was take me down to where the CDs were being manufactured to see them being pressed. Then we had to film lots of things for the TV show around the city. Halfway through the promo tour, when we were in Brisbane, I got to do the first things that weren't related to the show. I met up with a couple of my mates and we went out in Surfer's which was good.

Do you enjoy being a pop star?

I do. It's good to be able to make your own music and have all the opportunities that a pop star has - the VIP treatment, travelling the country, meeting other celebs. I'm meeting Mandy Moore tonight.

Was it hard towards the end of Popstars being the only male left?

No, I thought it was an advantage because there were no other males to compete with. It wasn't hard work because I was still enjoying it. I didn't worry about being outnumbered.

What advice would you give to young wannabe pop stars?

It's a tough question because I didn't really try to get where I am today, it just sort of happened. Whatever you're doing, just stay positive about everything. Keep your attitude positive, no matter what happens. It all depends on how you react to it.

When you were younger, did you ever think you'd be this successful?

I always hoped. I guess a lot of people think about becoming famous. I never dismissed the thought that I would become famous, but it's a lot harder than I thought it would be - like the pressure to get the album out. It's so full-on. All day everyday there are interviews. I get so tired that I just pass out. It's not musically hard, but emotionally, you feel drained.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I want to maybe make a few movies, like my own short ones or something. Maybe start my own TV show, not about me, but just a show. I want to do a lot of things. I don't want to just make the music, I want to build an empire! Like in Star Wars!

How often do you visit the dentist?

I kind of like the dentist. I think you have to pay for the dentist now, but now that I'm a big celebrity, I can afford it. (Laughs) I like getting the needles. Not for the needle side of it but because you go all numb and you drool, and it's really funny.

You've got lots of girl fans who think you're hot - do any boys?

Yeah, at some in-store, a couple of guys have slipped me their phone numbers. This one guy I met at HMV invited me to a football match and that was a little bit awkward but I'm fine with that.

Apart from Popstars, what has been your most overwhelming moment?

It has to be becoming a father. It's a very big thing and really changes you. It just sort of opening up this whole new way of thinking. I was there at the birth. I was nuts, absolutely nuts. During the contractions, I was grabbing the gas. The labour lasted for about 10 hours, but after the birth, it was like being in a dream. You hold her and it was absolutely incredible. It's probably the most overwhelming thing that could happen.

Why did you keep your little girl, Zoe, a secret?

One thing, you know, she's only two years old and I thought that people would make a big issue of it, and I didn't want them hassling her and her mum. She's just a shy, little two-year-old and I didn't want her to have to deal with that. Another thing is that I really didn't feel that it was necessary because she's all mine and I don't have to share her with anyone else.

Have you moved on before? If so, who from?

Yeah, I've moved on from people. I've had girlfriends but all the break-ups I've had have never been bad ones - pretty much always been mutual. Well, there was one bad one, but I don't want to talk about that.
