About this page and its creators

This page was created as a project by Jennifer Moore (Jenni) and Jennifer Ham (Jen). We are seniors and Science Research II students at South Carroll High School.

This is us. (Jenni is on the left, Jen is on the right)

This page was originally supposed to be nothing more than an online guide to dissecting fish. The whole idea came about when the Science Research I class was dissecting fish and the two of us were called upon into the lab to take pictures to document the dissections. As Mr. Foor-Hogue talked about the different parts of the fish and their purposes, we took notes. We thought it would be a good idea to actually make something productive out of our notes since we had already taken Science Research I and didn't really have any reason to be taking notes to begin with. We decided to make a packet for the class about fish dissection. We would include all of the information we had written down that day, and we would further our learning by studying with some of the books from the classroom and some internet sources. However, upon searching the internet for information about the innards of a fish, we came across next to nothing. We then decided to turn the packet idea into a webpage. Since Jen knew HTML, this wouldn't be a difficult task, and it would get us some nice points for the gradebook. However, Jenni didn't know HTML. This became a great opportunity to teach her HTML. When we presented the idea to Mr. Foor-Hogue, he agreed that indeed it would be beneficial to make a webpage. He started giving us ideas for other pages to make, and so instead of it being a simple fish dissection page, it is now a full-blown South Carroll High School Science Research webpage.
