news for the no-wave crowd! downtown 81 was shot in 1981 in arty nyc and the footage was just recently recovered. it's an interesting flick in general, but performances by dna, james white and the blacks, tuxedomoon, the plastics, kid creole and the coconuts, etc. make it amazing. i am currently seeking to acquire a copy of the soundtrack (emi records).
