It's really pretty sad that when you first hear An Albatross, the only thing you can think of is The Locust, because really, they're a lot better. It's that incredible keyboard thrash sound, with under-a-minute danceable songs. I suppose a good description of AA would be to think about The Locust's S/T LP with deeper vocals, and a quirkier, happy keyboard. Also, ALL the songs on this cd are fun. Each and every song has it's own happy keyboard solo or dance part. Yes, in a rare finding, this is a cd you can actually listen to all the way through and enjoy it all. Amazing, isn't it? Well one of the factors contributing to that would be the fact that the entire cd is only 10:11 long. oh well. A definite stand-out track would have to be "The Man Eating Pigs Of Madidi". Listen to that song all the way through, and see if you can seriously tell me that you were bored. Normally, I despise keyboards, but this keyboard is just too damn good. Happy & dancy, you even get a keyboard only track. Sounds stupid, but wow is it catchy and fun. To make a long story short, if you like The Locust, you'll love these guys. I reccommend buying the cd, as it contains a full live preformance on it if you plug it into your pc. Absolutely hilarious. It's a show in a small room with lots of slightly older scenesters running around in costumes. Much crotch-grabbing and odd sexual things ensue. Hilairity at it's finest. Complaints? It's just too fucking short!
