Pilot was more an experiment in sculpting than anything else. I like Pilot, I think the whole organic ship thing was an interesting concept, so I decided I wanted a pilot, although this figure, more of a sculpture really, does not fit in scale with the official Farscape figures.
I started out basically with some weird robot sphere thing that had arms, and gradually built up Pilot around it with miliput. Like Jool's outfit, I did it in stages, starting with the basics, then looking for reference pics to add detail...the head itself is scompletely sculpted, not based around anything. Although he's not stunning, I think my experiment was worth the effort, as I certainly had fun, and after all that's really what the biz is all about!
I built him to fit in this little chamber which I made from bits of wood, the backdrop is scanned from the Farscape action figure cards to add a bit of detail in there! |
