Chad's Summary: On the planet Kelowna (P2S--4C3), Dr. Daniel Jackson gives up his life to prevent a catastrophe. Before his selfless act, Kelowna's people were on the verge of self-destruction by creating a weapon using a new, more powerful, form of Naquadah called Naquadria. Before the accident that claims Dr. Jackson's life, the team meet Jonas Quinn (Corin Nemec) -- an up and coming Kelownan who will join SG-1 later in time. Dr. Jackson does not pass away, but he ascends to a higher level of existence with the help of Oma Desala (Mel Harris).

* This episode of Stargate SG-1, "Meridian," shares its' title with a third season episode of the spin-off series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993 to 1999). The Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode was originally broadcast on November 20, 1994.

Destination:

* Kelowna (P2S--4C3) is the home of Jonas Quinn. The planet's technical advancement is on a parallel to that of Earth in the 1940s just prior to America's development of atomic power. The people living in the country of Kelowna are known as Kelownans. SG-1 finds an element similar to Naquadah called Naquadria which is an unstable radioactive power source. Actor Tracker:
