Chad's Summary: While under attack on planet P3X--116, SG-1 is running toward the Stargate. As O'Neill, Carter, and Jackson enter the gate, Teal'c shoots down a ship piloted by the Goa'uld Tanith. The Stargate shuts down before Teal'c can re-emerge from the gate. Teal'c is trapped inside the Stargate. To make matters worse, General Hammond has orders from his superiors that Teal'c must be released from the gate within forty-eight hours in order to resume normal Stargate operations by the end of the two day period. If a way is not found for his safe release from the Stargate, Teal'c will perish. A brilliant yet, somewhat, arrogant man named Dr. Rodney McKay (David Hewlett) arrives at the SGC to assist Carter in finding a solution to the problem at hand. Meanwhile, Jackson and Major Davis negotiate with Col. Chekhov for use of the Russian Stargate in returning eight off-world SG teams to Earth. Later, one of those teams is sent on a fact finding mission, to speak with the Tok'Ra about the current situation, using the Russian Stargate. In return for their help, Col. Chekhov and the Russians want an officer, of their choosing, stationed at the SGC. Col. Simmons blackmails Hammond to obtain a Goa'uld Ribbon Device. O'Neill and Maybourne go in search of Adrian Conrad yet again. Dr. McKay devised the forty-eight hour window to save Teal'c. O'Neill and Maybourne locate Conrad at an NID safe house and interrogate him about the problem. The Goa'uld within Conrad is unresponsive. Jackson convinces Davis to accept the Russian deal for Naquadah Generator technology. Using the security camera in Conrad's cell with the video cassette from two days prior, O'Neill finds the information he needs. On Daniel's suggestion, the Russians loan the SGC the DHD. Col. Simmons is arrested on the basis of O'Neill's information which also helps to save Teal'c. The DHD is connected to the Stargate. Teal'c is rescued, and he has news of Tanith's demise. The DHD is destroyed.
