Chad's Summary: Jackson finds Carter unconscious on planet Velona (P4X--636). After Dr. Fraiser examines Carter, all members of SG-1, except for Dr. Jackson, are placed on temporary stand down. On the other hand, Dr. Jackson is reassigned to team SG-16, on a temporary basis, to translate the writing on the alien device found on Velona. A mysterious man -- later known as Orlin (Sean Patrick Flanery) -- appears in Carter's house. The SGC places her house under surveillance to no avail. After the surveillance is called off, Orlin mysteriously reappears. General Hammond orders a psychiatric evaluation of Carter. Orlin takes human form on a more permanent basis, because he has fallen in love with Carter. Meanwhile, O'Neill and Teal'c arrive at Carter's house with a pizza and a VHS copy of the movie Star Wars. Carter turns them away, and O'Neill gives her the pizza. Col. Frank Simmons (John de Lancie) arrives at the SGC from the Pentagon. The Pentagon is very interested in the alien technology found on P4X--636. After a conversation with Carter, Orlin constructs a one-way, one-use Stargate from materials on Earth. Unknown to the SGC, the Pentagon has been keeping tabs on Carter's actions with Orlin. Orlin uses his newly built Stargate to return to Velona. Orlin's mission to prevent SG-16 from using the deadly Ancient device. His mission is successful. Then, Orlin ascends, once again with the assistance of other Ancients, to save Carter and SG-16 from the impending, potentially deadly, explosion of the Ancient weapon.
