Chad's Summary: SG-1 explore a world, with a Mayan connection, using the M.A.L.P. probe. Daniel notices a crystal skull displayed in a temple. The skull is similar to one found by Daniel's Grandfather Nick Ballard (Jan Rubês). Daniel gives a briefing on Nick Ballard and the Crystal skull. Dr. Fraiser warns of dangerous radiation emanating from the skull and recommends that the mission be limited to ten to fifteen minutes. SG-1 embark on the mission. Daniel walks toward the skull. The radiation level rises and light begins to come from the skull. Teal'c fires his Zat gun, at the skull, to protect Daniel. Daniel disappears, and the rest of SG-1 return home. Using the M.A.L.P., the SGC searches for Daniel while Teal'c returns to the planet to retrieve the crystal skull. Daniel is out of phase with the rest of SG-1. Therefore, he can not be seen by his team members or any SGC personnel. Daniel tries to communicate with Teal'c to no avail. Teal'c and Daniel return home. The SGC analyze the skull to find Daniel. After Dr. Rothman's analysis, Daniel entertains the idea that he may be dead while the SGC launch a UAV to find Daniel. SG-1 talk to Nick Ballard in the hospital. After the conversation, Nick goes back to the SGC with SG-1. Daniel overhears a conversation between General Hammond and his Granddaughter Kayla. Ballard inspects the skull. He tells them about the crystal skull he found in 1971. In Ballard's quarters, Nick tells Daniel that he can see him. Ballard convinces General Hammond and SG-1 that Daniel is in the briefing room using the conversation Daniel overheard between Hammond and his granddaughter. SG-1 return to the planet with Nick Ballard. The skull is placed back on the stone pedestal. Daniel looks into the eyes of the skull and light envelopes the room. O'Neill, Carter, and Ballard are brought into phase with Daniel while Teal'c returns to the SGC. They talk to Quetlzelcoatl (Voice of Christopher Judge) and gain an ally. Ballard remains on the planet for a cultural exchange.
