Chad's Summary: SG-1 observe a meteor shower on a distant planet. One meteor bounces off the atmosphere and alarms SG-1. Carter investigates the orbit of the plant Edora while Jackson, along with Teal'c and some locals Garan (Shane Meier) and Naytha (Julie Patzwald), investigates the fossil record of the planet for clues of past meteor impacts. Carter, Jackson, and Teal'c evacuate some of the villagers to Earth. Meanwhile, O'Neill and Laira (Michele Greene) search for her son Garan. They find Garan and Naytha in a cave where the two had sought refuge from the meteor storm. The Stargate is buried by the meteor storm stranding O'Neill on Edora. The rest of SG-1 search for a way to bring O'Neill home. O'Neill attempts to dig up the Edora Stargate while Carter comes up with an idea to use a particle beam generator to expand the cavern already formed around the Edora Stargate. After some time, O'Neill begins a new life on Edora with Laira. After the Edora Stargate cavern is expanded by the particle beam generator, Teal'c goes on a dangerous mission to rescue O'Neill. Teal'c must dig his way to the surface of Edora with a limited oxygen supply within the cavern. Paynan (Marcel Maillard) and O'Neill talk about Laira while Teal'c makes slow progress in his perilous dig. Laira hears Carter's voice through O'Neill's radio, and she tells O'Neill who, then, contacts Teal'c. O'Neill and Garan begin to dig, and the Stargate is excavated. O'Neill promises Laira that he will return. The refugees return to Edora while O'Neill returns to Earth.
