Chad's Summary: SG-1 investigate an alien planet. They find various devices of an unknown technology, and an old man named Ma'Chello (also played by Michael Shanks) who Teal'c identifies as an enemy of the Goa'uld. With the help of Daniel Jackson, Ma'chello demonstrates what he calls a Goa'uld fighting device. After Daniel is shocked by an electrical charge, Ma'Chello passes out. SG-1 return home with Ma'chello. Dr. Fraiser examines Daniel and suggests he rest after his ordeal. In a debriefing, Carter asks Daniel if he can translate the alien symbols, found on a device, brought back from the planet. He says he can not help her. General Hammond gives Daniel the rest of the day off. Ma'Chello tries to convince everyone that he is, in fact, Daniel Jackson. After some questioning, they are convinced. Ma'Chello, in Daniel's body, goes in search of cultural contact. SG-1 returns to planet to bring Ma'Chello's machine back to Earth. O'Neill and Teal'c switch personalities while grasping the machine. Back on Earth, Carter experiments with different ways of switching O'Neill and Teal'c back into their respective bodies. Using Daniel Jackson's credit card, Ma'Chello and Fred (Alvin Sanders) eat at a diner. Daniel, in Ma'Chello's body, tries to help Carter translate the alien symbols. He slips into a coma. The SGC tracks Ma'Chello by his use of Daniel Jackson's credit card. Ma'Chello tells Fred that he has lost everything he holds dear in a long war. He is returned to the SGC. Ma'Chello tries to make a deal for his knowledge. The price for the deal is Daniel Jackson's body and life. After a long conversation about their respective losses to the Goa'uld, Daniel convinces Ma'Chello to switch personalities with him again. Carter comes up with the solution to the problem after Ma'Chello tells her he would switch bodies with Daniel if he could. Using SG-1, Ma'Chello and Daniel switch bodies in a real life game of musical chairs. Back in his body, Ma'Chello thanks Daniel for his holiday and then passes away.
