Chad's Summary: SG-10 is running toward the gate, on an alien planet, to get back to Earth. Meanwhile, at the SGC, Carter and O'Neill are having an entertaining discussion about Stargate wormholes. The SGC is receiving SG-10's Iris Deactivation Code (IDC) at a much slower rate than normal. General Hammond orders the Iris open, and the Stargate disengages. O'Neill requests the rescue mission be assigned to SG-1. They regain contact with the planet and realize that the Stargate is connected to a black hole. General Hammond tries to make contact with the president, but he can not. He then leaves the base to make contact with the president. SG-1 decides to cut power to the Stargate. The power to the gate is being sustained by the black hole, therefore, SG-1 fails in their task. On his way to see the president, General Hammond learns that time is slowing down, within the SGC, because of the gravitational forces of the Black Hole. A special forces team, lead by Col. Frank Cromwell (Marshall Teague), enters the base. O'Neill has a personal history with Cromwell in which he blames Cromwell for leaving him behind on a secret mission. General Hammond informs SG-1 and Cromwell that the president has decided to blow up the Stargate in order to save Earth. The SGC is evacuated except for O'Neill and Cromwell who stay behind to activate the auto--destruct mechanism. Carter tries to come up with another solution to the problem. O'Neill and Cromwell set the auto--destruct system after waiting what they think is five minutes. Carter theorizes that if they channel enough energy through the Stargate that the wormhole will jump to another gate not connected to the black hole. The auto--destruct device is deactivated. Using ropes, O'Neill and Cromwell slide toward the gate to set a smaller explosive. The window of the control room shatters and sends glass rushing in their direction. The Iris is destroyed by the black hole. Cromwell is sucked into the Stargate. O'Neill arms the bomb, and Teal'c pulls him to safety.
