Summary: On a previous mission, Sato encountered a small slug--like creature. She takes it on board the Enterprise, and the slug does not fare very well. Archer and T'Pol discuss where to go next. Sato asks for permission to switch quarters, and Archer allows her to do so. Reed (Dominic Keating) and Mayweather try to align the targeting scanners, but the scanners do not work properly. The Enterprise encounters a seemingly abandoned alien starship. Sato attempts to get out of the search party because of her clostrophobic feelings caused by the environmental suits. Over her objections, Archer, Reed and Sato board the alien craft. While exploring the ship, they realize that the crew are suspended from the ceiling upside down. A green fluid is being pumped out of them. T'Pol convinces Archer to leave the area. Sato talks to Dr. Phlox about her experience on the alien ship. Archer is having trouble dealing with his decision to leave the alien ship, and he decides to return to the location of the ship. Dr. Phlox performs an autopsy on one of the aliens while Tucker and Sato try to fix the communication system in order to send a distress call. Dr. Phlox discovers that Triglobulan is being pumped out of the aliens. T'Pol tells Archer that another ship is approaching and that the ship matches technology found in the pumps. The search party returns to the Enterprise. The aliens attack the ship, and the Enterprise returns fire to no avail. The alien ship scans the Enterprise. The captain of the ship answering the distress call believes that the Enterprise killed the other crew. The first alien ship begins cutting into the hull of the enterprise. After Sato talks to the captain of the second alien ship, he destroys the other ship whose crew had killed his people. The race of aliens, from the disabled ship are known as the Axinar. Dr. Phlox and Sato bring the slug to a planet similar to its' own.
