"Defending Her Honor!"

Crew

German'esque modifications were made to a Hasegawa ground crew figure to make a Kurita ground crewperson for the spray painter.  I used Aves to make the helmet, respirator mask, wings on the overalls, and to modify the boots to knee highs.  He had on headphones which were sawed off and have been added to the respirator.  The paint gun, not shown, is a 1/350 machine gun with life raft canisters for detail.  This figure, obviously directing taxing a/c, has the perfect pose in response to the pilot yelling at him for painting the bird so quickly.

Cockpit

The saddle for the pilot is made from the back of a 1/48th A-4 ejection seat, the rest of the frame being built from styrene and Aves for the seat cushions.

Miscellaneous

Containers will be littered around the landing pad.  They are plungers and caps from syringes.  Some more, made from a mold that is a little plastic bubble wrap a pill came in, are forthcoming.  The blast shield, a remnant from days past in this modern age of antigrav drives, is a piece of plastic my boss gave me.  She knows I build models and collects interesting plastic pieces for me.  I think it's from an egg holder.  Leastwise it was a box with a clear lid and that piece inside as a tray like thing.  Some other pics on the Shrike main page show the blast shield better with some metal washers in the hole to make a better texture and depth.
