Halloween deviled eggs
This appetizer has a great Italian flavor that sets the stage for the black olives.
6 eggs, hard boiled
2 oz fresh Parmesen cheese, grated
Italian seasoning blend
2 cloves crushed garlic
olive oil
Simmer the garlic in a couple tablespoons of EVOO for about 30 seconds. Just enough to take the pungency out. Set aside.
Cut the eggs in half and put yolks in a food processor.
Add seasonings,cheese, garlic and puree. Add more EVOO to blend into a maleable paste.
Cut thick slices off the sides of mushrooms to make body sections.
Cut skinny slivers lengthwise to make leg pieces.
Spoon the mixture into the egg whites and assemble the legs and bodies to make the spiders. It's a hit.
