    Chicago Sights

The first four of these are from the top of the John Hancock

Looking south-west you can see the Sears tower which is only 400 feet taller than the John Hancock.

      Same angle. :-)

The track lighting around the observatory has these cool fixtures. The two wires of the track carry its power.

On a sadder note, this is what is left of the famous Meigs Field. Anybody who has flown the Microsoft Flight simulator knows the first flight begins at that field. A couple years ago, despite infinite resistance from all fliers, the locals and the NTSB, Mayor Daley closed the field. To accomplish it in the most heavy-handed, Caponesque fashion he ordered bulldozers to carve foot-deep Xs into the runway during the night. Now it is grass field. :-(
For more info on the field go to Friends of Meigs

I went down to the concert hall to get a ticket. Along the way I shot this of the water tower.

The theater is awesome and the acoustics are perfect.

The training orchestra was having a halloween concert for kids. They had the organ out and did Bach's Toccata in D. Very cool.

In the museum store, this FLWright takeoff was in the window.
