I am interested in finding out what you guys think is the most important compound that we are using in the 21st century? Explain your reasoning.

Mine:

I think that the most important compound being used today is acids that are used to generate electricity in batteries. Without these amazing compounds, products like cell phones, laptops and many other very inovative products would not be available to us.

I would have to agree. we all use batteries around our houses and in things we really need that we don't even notice. Like firemen use batteries in thier flashlights and police officers use them to radio back and forth. Plus many of us use batteries for fun, like when we want to listen to our ipods or mp3 players, or to even drive our cars.

Well, I don't know what the MOST important is... but, I think that silicon is very important.. as you have said in class, it is found in computer chips, cell phones, mp3 players and what not... computers store data that is, sometimes, crutial to the US.. and cell phones just ROCKK.

i have to say that many of the things we use, acids play a big role. without it half the things probably wouldnt exist. well, in our worlds. but its very important to me, if i think about it.
