Whew! That turned out to be quite a production! These are my first substantial writings of an academic bent since high school, I think. For those of you who can understand how difficult it is for me to write, i.e., how long it takes me to write, you may appreciate better the sustained inspiration required to finish this project. The good news is that I did actually follow it thru to completion, and that I was not racked with frustration in getting it out!\

Please feel free to edit and proofread (especially for such grammatical things as consistent verb tense and pronoun agreement—they all make sense to me because I'm familiar with the material) and make suggestions on everything from word choice to what needs better/more explanation.\
