MONROE COUNTY FAIR DEMOLITION DERBY
TRUCK RULES AND REGULATIONS

INSPECTIONS AND REGISTRATIONS DAY OF EVENT ONLY AT NORTH END OF ARENA (ALL INSPECTIONS AND REGISTRATION CLOSE 1 HOUR BEFORE EVENT)
GENERAL RULES FOR PARTICIPATION
A. The Monroe County Demolition Derby is promoted as an unusual spectator attraction. In the interest of safety and the promotion of family values event, anyone entering as a participant (driver or support staff) or spectator must obey all rules and regulations.
B. Each driver must fill out an entry form. All drivers must supply their own truck.
C. Each driver must be 18 years of age and hold a valid drivers license. Drivers under 18 years of age must have a notarized release signed by legal parent/guardian.
D. The Monroe County Demolition Committee or their appointed representatives, reserve the right to approve or reject any and all entries.
E. One driver and one mechanic will be admitted with each paid entry. Each entry fee is $20.00.
F. No trucks permitted on track before their assigned event. Succeeding heats are to be lined up inside fenced area while proceeding heat is on the track.
G. Trucks may be re-inspected at any time and/or as many times as promoter decides is necessary.
H. Promoter reserves the right to assign heats.
I. Monroe County Fairgrounds is a NO ALCOHOL property, anyone caught with alcoholic beverages shall be ejected from fairgrounds without refund.
Participation Regulations
1. Any � or � ton hard top pick up truck. Extended cab and crew cabs allowed. No Suburbans, 1-ton, El Camino type trucks, ambulance, or Jeeps.
2. Compact trucks will run separate heat(s). Compact trucks must be 4 or 6 cylinders only. Extended cab or crew cabs allowed
3. Working seat belts with shoulder harness or racing type safety belts required, dot approved helmet with face shield or goggles mandatory.
4. All glass, trim, upholstery, mirrors, and plastics must be removed before arriving at fairgrounds, if a magnet will not stick to it, it must be removed.
5. Gas tank: original gas tank must be removed, a marine boat tank of 6 gallon maximum must be mounted in center of bed close to back of cab, tank must be covered with metal or rubber for splash guard. All lines and connections must be leak proof connections, metal lines are recommended, if rubber lines are used must be of new quality with no signs of cracking or fading. Electric fuel pumps allowed but must have shut of switch on dash clearly marked for firemen in case of fire. Pump gas only.
6. Motor: any motor or transmission combination may be used providing that mounts remain in stock position, no motor set back.
7. Fire wall: fire wall must remain intact, cutting for distributor clearance is allowed, all holes and notching must be patched with metal securely fastened. (Anyone caught reaching through fire wall for adjustments will be disqualified).
8. Radiator: must remain in stock position and in stock mounts, no part of cooling system allowed beyond firewall.
9. Suspension: must remain completely stock and have free travel. Spring jacks, blocked shocks, air shocks, lift kits, or wedging not allowed.
10. Brakes: must remain operable each time vehicle enters arena.
11. Battery: must be moved to passenger side floor pan securely mounted with straps. (Bungee type straps will not be allowed).
12. Tires: must have dot stamp, must appear to be conventional truck tire, no fork truck, tractor tires. Tires may be filled.
13. Hood: must remain operable for initial inspection. Hood must have 12" x 20"  holes cut on each side of carburetor. Hood allowed a maximum of 6 hold downs using #9 wire only, wire may not be more than 2 strands per hold down. Must have front half of hood covering past fan blades at all times.
14. Exhaust: may exit from hood, must point straight up, not towards front bumper or driver.
15. Doors: may be fastened shut with #9 wire only, 2 locations per seam with a maximum of 2 strands per location. Driver's door only may be welded. Driver's door may be plated with steel plate that may not extend more than 6"  beyond door seams. Must have a minimum of 8-1/2"  dia. bolts. Drivers door only to be painted white. Numbers must be neatly painted on doors and roof to be scored.
16. Body seams: may not be bolted, screwed, or welded. Cutting of fenders for wheel clearance only. Rubber body mounts may be replaced but must remain at stock height, replacement bolts may not be larger than �" dia. maximum 3" x 3" x 1/4" washer (1 top, 1 bottom). Body and bumpers must remain in stock position. Bumpers may have 3/8"  chain from bumper bracket to backing plate, no welding.
17. Roll cage: or bars are allowed. Cages and bars must remain in cab, no bars on exterior. Cages and bars to be welded or bolted to top of frame or body. All cage material to be 3" or 3" x 3" maximum tubing.
18. Windshield: area must have #9 wire, chain, or metal strap from roof to cowling behind hood to prevent hood from entering driver's compartment.
19. Bed: may have body mounts replaced, if body mounts are not replaced, bed must have #9 wire around frame through bed in 4 locations to secure to frame. Bed must have a minimum of 4- �"  bolts with 4" x 4" washers through back of cab, with a maximum of 6 bolts.
20. Tailgate: must be secured with #9 wire in 4 locations or the tailgate can be welded two places per seam (2 per side and 2 across bed floor to tailgate). Max. steel plates 6" x 6" x 1/4"  with min. 10" x 10"  inspection hole in inner tailgate for inspection if welded.
21. Welding: only the following areas may be welded, any other welds will result in disqualification: rear end gears, drivers door, tailgate as stated in #20, roll cage to frame(no kicker supports), motor mounts, rims.
22. Body and Frame: must remain completely stock, no modifications to the frame or bumpers will be accepted, the intent of this derby is to be a stock derby with drivers safety the first priority.
23. No added material or wiring for strengthening body, frame, or suspension.
24. Items not clearly addressed in these rules will not be accepted, if it is not clearly expressed it is not allowed.
This event will be run in conjunction with our figure 8 derby on Thursday July 26, 2007 as a single feature event, pay out to be 100% of entries for trucks

All drivers and mechanics will be required to sign "liability release forms". Drivers under the age of 18 must provide notarized release form. I have read the rules and agree to accept the decisions of the officials as final. I agree to accept the conditions of the grounds and the arena. A $20.00 fee must accompany this entry form. Entry fee entitles the team to two(2) pit passes. Additional pit passes may be purchased for $10.00 per person. Entry fee must be cash or money order payable to Monroe County Fair Board.

MONROE COUNTY FAIR FIGURE 8 RULES
GENERAL RULES
1. All cars to be built to standard MONROE COUNTY demolition derby rules.
2. All cars must be swept clean of all dirt and debris.
3. All cars and debris must be removed same night of event, no cars left over night.
4. Race official's decisions are final. NO APPEALS.
5. Promoter reserves the right to accept or reject any entries.
6. Feature only pays 1st through 10th, full size class only. 1st thru 5th in mini feature.
7. NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED ON FAIRGROUNDS.
MANDATORY ADDITIONS
1. No limits on driver's door protection. Must have doorplate that extends 6"  past door seams that is 12"  minimum height with lowest point of plate 2"  below driver's seat. Must be a minimum of 3/8" thick, steel plate metal only. Minimum of 6, �"  diameter bolts to attach plate to door.
2. Three bars in front windshield area to prevent hood from entering driver's compartment.
3. Fire extinguisher in reach of driver, securely mounted.
4. Splashguard over gas tank and battery.
5. 12"  x 12" upright sheet metal securely mounted to roof. Must be painted white background with bold car number only for scoring both sides. If you do not have this, you will not be scored.
6. This is an individual competition. No team driving or ganging up against another driver.
7. Full sized cars must be a minimum of 108"  wheelbase.
8. Mini cars may be front or rear wheel drive. No four wheel drive vehicles. Maximum wheelbase of 101" , no turbos or V-8 engines.
9. No lacing from core support or hood directly in front of radiator allowed or hold downs in front of radiator.
OPTIONAL ADDITIONS
1. Body seams may be welded. No modifications to frames allowed.
2. Front bumper may have hoop bar welded to top of bumper with no part of hoop behind radiator.
3. Two pieces of all thread at core support through hood for hold-downs allowed. �" diameter maximum.
This event is a family oriented event, no rude gestures or foul language or fighting will be tolerated on grounds.
Entry fee will be $20.00 for driver and car. All additional pit passes will be $10.00.
ALL PARTICIPANTS AND SUPPORT VEHICLES MUST USE GATE #1 AT SOUTHEAST ENTRANCE ON AIRPORT ROAD. THIS IS THE ONLY GATE WITH ACCESS TO THE PIT AREA.
