These six global views of Mars were taken by the Mars Orbiter Camera on the Mars Global Surveyor on February 14, 2003. When these pictures were taken it was the middle of the summer in the northern hemisphere and the middle of the winter in the southern hemisphere. The original pictures were larger and can be found here. I sharpened these six pictures in Adobe Photodeluxe because I thought they looked better and showed more details of the planets surface. I also reduced their size so they would fit the web page better. Click on a thumbnail below and it will be displayed in the large photo window. Start on the left and go from top to bottom, then go to the right and go from top to bottom and Mars seems to be rotating. In fact Mars seems to make one complete rotation.
