Hi. My name is Schooner. I'm a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retreiver and this is my vacation page. See the link below to visit my original home page.
It all started when I went to see Santa. All I wanted for Christmas was a biscuit but Santa told me that I was going to Florida. I heard Mom and Dad talking about Uncle Duke going to Florida and I never saw him again. I thought I was a good dog, they always told me I was a good dog so I just couldn't figure out why I had to go to Florida. Well, as you can see from the pictures, Florida turned out to be a pretty good place.
Well, it was a 26 hour drive from my house in Niagara Falls to Florida. I had my kennel and bed set up in the back of the truck so I was able to sleep most of the time. Dad and Mom always talked about how comfortable my bed looked, so I had to keep an eye on them to make sure they didn't try to put me in the front seat and sleep in my bed We spent the first few days at Uncle Duke's house. Boy, was it hot. We barked at dolphins and manatee that swim off the back dock and I chased all the funny looking birds with the long legs off the property. What FUN!!!! We went for a boat ride so we could eat seashells and dead fish. What a delicacy!! We played ball by the shore and chased more birds, then had a nap.
Next thing I knew, the truck was being packed (I supervised) and we were saying good-bye to Uncle Duke. We stopped in Key Largo for a potty break and gas. Dad said "next stop was Key West." Now, where in the world is Key West?
Here's a picture of the sunset in Key West
Here it is! Key West is at mile marker zero, the southern most point in the continential U.S.

Say Cheezzz! Me, Mojo, India and friend.
Our days in Key West were spent at the beach, taking long walks, and shopping. I was allowed to go everywhere with Mom and Dad. One of my favorite lunch time spots was B.O.'s Fish Wagon. They always had a hotdog to spare and a free all you can drink water bowl out 24 hours a day (No Poodles Allowed).

Dad found a new hat (literially)
Late afternoons were spent at Capt. Tony's Saloon. Where Kathy, the barmaid, always had my space at the front door saved for me and a cup of ice water waiting for me at the bar. I especially liked Liz. She would play her guitar and sing songs with my name in it. I think she liked me. Actually, I'm sure she liked me.
