today is the muslim holiday of ramidan. and i got to spend it with skip, my bosnian connection, i had a blast visiting his family. he had a little niece who came right up to me and did the european kiss on each cheek thing when she met me. it was very cool. i got to do some real walking around the city today and it never fails to amaze me just how blown to shit sarajevo is. in skip's building there is still fire damage on the first floor. crazy. buildings with craters in the side of them. it just blows my mind. we think america has ghettos. we don't know the meaning of ghetto. we should feel lucky that we don't live in buildings with bullet holes scattering the side of our home.
i ate so much bosnian food. crazy things that i don't even know the name of. but the mojority of it was extremely good. but not all. some of the stuff was very...umm...interesting. meats of some sort and things rolled in some type of stuff. but i was polite and ate as much as i could. skips mom just kept bringing out more and more food. she wouldn't stop and i felt bad when it was time to go because she still wanted to feed me. she even gave me a doggie bag. it was very strange though because skip doesn't care for his mom to much and he was talking very bad about her in english while she was in the room. she doesn't understand a lick of english so she just went on about her business none the wiser. very strange.
i felt very cool in a cafe we went to because it had allot of bosnian art students in it and the were all checking me out because i look so damn american. beautiful bosnian women checkin me out. that's always a good thing. it was a great cafe. they had a dj in there spinning some some acid jazz in the middle of the day.
we finished up the day at a english dudes house. his name is mark and his house is just the hang out capital in sarajevo. everyone  knows his place and some pretty famous dj's from around europe have spun in his living room. he was talking today about starting to get each dj who throws down there to sign the wall.
but alas i had to come to work. and i'm sick. and life sucks. but hey i walked around sarajevo high as shit. it could be worse.
