| Assignment One: If you are new to magick read on, if not go to Assignment Two. Read Chapters 1-4. After reading all of this ask yourself these questions. You may want to get a notebook to answer them in. *Where is magick in my life? *How is it in my life? *Why is magick in my life? *Why are herbs, stones, and colors so vital to effectivly do ritual magick? *What are the Four Elements? What information do you remember about them? *What are the "Four Powers of the Magus"? *Why is it logical that the moon effects our bodies? One you have asnwered these questions, do what the book says to improve concentration and visualization. Assignment Two: Read Chapter 5 and 6. Work on aquiring the tools you need. When you feel you have what you need, cast a circle, then meditate while inside it. Once you are done, banish the circle. Do this at least once a week for one month. Do you enjoy spending time in the circle? Assignment Three: Read Chapter 7. Think about the meaning of each season and why they are important. As you go throught the year, note what emotions come with each season. Ask yourself "What is Wicca?" "Is it a good path for me?" Even if you answer no to the previous question, perform the Self Initiation Ritual. This gives you a boost of power and will give you a good helping along your journey. Assignment Four: Read Chapters 8 and 9. If you have to, read them twice. Make sure you have a good understanding of who the Celts where, who their gods were. Think about the deities. Which ones seem to play important roles in your life? Which god do you think acts most like you? Why? Assignment Five:Pcik a deity that you feel most drawn too. If you are a male pick a god if you are female pick a goddess. Look online, in the library, and in books to find out more about them. They are your patron deity. While looking through the section on Herb Magic answer this question: �How do you think the attributes were determined for what herb corresponds to what energy?� Answer in your notebook. Begin collecting Herbs to use in your spell work. If you have a �green thumb� plant an herb garden! Grow and buy plants that have meaning to you. Assignment Six: Begin casting a circle at least once a month. Honor the gods, petition them, or cast spells. After doing this at least a month, cast the spell �To Rid Yourself of Negativities� (it�s under the Cauldron Magic section) before stepping into your circle. Note the difference in yourself as you step into your sacred space. Record your emotions and feelings in your notebook. Assignment Seven: Reread through the section on Candle Magic in Chapter Ten. Look at areas in your life that need improvement. Select one, and using proper stones, colors, herbs, ect., cast the spell (do not cast your circle). After a few days, if the spell hasn�t taken effect, perform the same exact spell in your ritual circle. Note the difference in power, emotions, and images that pop up in your notebook. This lesson teaches the power of working in a protected area. Assignment Eight: Begin writing your own spells. Cast them. See what works, and decide what doesn�t. What could you have done better? What was good? What was the overall mood while casting the spell? Write it all in your notebook. Assignment Nine: Gather information on the Sabbats. Write what each Sabbat means to you in your notebook. Begin celebrating these festivals in your circle and in your life. Feel free to add to the rituals in the book, or change them to fit your need. Give praise to the gods, they are always listening. |
