At Manchester United you are treated as someone special, and that's wonderful thing for a young laf trying to make his way in the game. The facilities are superb, they find you the best digs and the banter between the young boys is smashing. But we all know we're fighting to get into the best team in the country. There are ups and downs along the way. I suppose one of the most worrying moments for me was when the manager called me in and told that Preston North End had been on the phone, asking if they could take me on a month's loan and that he had agreed.
- I was one of the team, and that was the way I wanted it. This wasn't some sort of glory trip, I wanted to be part of the team, part of the club, it was very important to me to be accepted.
