Human Animal Bond In Tennessee
I've been a HABIT dog since 1999.  It is a program that is sponsored by the University of Tennessee Vet School.  Mommy takes me once a week to visit the nice people at the assisted living center.  Other volunteers, consisting of other dogs, cats, and bunnies visit nursing homes, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers all over East Tennessee. When I visit, the residents are anxious to pet me and most of them know my name!  I get to wear a real cool red bandana, like in the picture!  It is my "uniform".  When Mommy puts it on me, I know that I get to go and visit, and I get really excited.  I really enjoy my visits, and I think my friends at the assisted living center enjoy me too!
Here is a picture of me and my friend, Charity.  We have a lot of fun when I visit her!  I love Charity!
Here I am when I used to make my visits at our hospital.  I was "therapy" for the nurses too!
