A Philosophical New Revolution
December 2, 2002

Let's all be original!
Let's all be our own soveriegn selves! Come on, it'll be fun. We'll overcome the norm and we won't conform to society! We will celebrate our own thoughts, our own ideas, and our own free wills.
Hoorah for individuality!
We won't succumb, we will be completely different, wild, and unique! Unique, just like the rest of the world! Unique in our own special ways.
It's not over yet, though:
We will continue on our escapades--until we can undermine every other belief possible, until we can prove that everyone's opinion is wrong, until we can laugh at the rest of the world for every aspect of its character. We, after all, are individuals; we aren't packaged products of society. We don't wear Tommy Hilfiger and we don't bleach our hair and we don't care what the new Avril single is.
We would be punk rockers, but then we'd be conforming, wouldn't we?
So for our purposes, Avril is a poser. Tommy Hilfiger is the Dark Prep Overlord. We don't care about them.
Let's make up our own style, also. Of course, it won't be all the rage, because that would ruin everything. We have to be original. And make a point. And have a presence about us. But at the same time, we have to stay relatively incognito--otherwise people will start following us, and we will be trendsetters, and trendsetters are the worst people on the planet.
Yeah, even worse than a punk-prep-sk8r-rocker-wannabe-poser-goth-freak-guitarplayer-underground-mainstream-trendymofo-grunge-corporatesupporting-destroyallgovernment-anarchist-communist-fascist-capitalist-chauvenist-racist-feminist-rebel-wigger-faggot-homophobic-etcetera-andsoforth-cling on.
But that's not us. That's the exact antithesis of us. That is the epitome of NOT us. We are our own person, we are one in six billion, we are the only ones like us in the world. We, after all, are us, and that makes us the good guys.
We hate anyone different from us--but we aren't closed-minded at all. Because then we would be stuck in the world of "classes," of "ranks" and "types" and "categories," and we would be conforming to society and OH NO WE CAN'T LET THAT HAPPEN because then we would fit in and someone might understand us. No, we accept everyone. And hate them. At the same time. But it all makes sense to us, even though in everyone else's mind our philosophy contradicts itself. We alone understand it--people call us hypocrites or whatever (but we aren't, because we are original). How could anyone else understand it? They don't think like us. We're the most unique person in the world.
Why doesn't everyone else see that?
Don't like it? Complain!
