Verlinden
is, without a doubt, the finest resin-cast model company in existence and this
kit exists to show off their abilities.
The kit is a multi-media type with etched brass, copper wire, and plastic tubing provided. It is NOT a beginners kit. Tamiya's Sherman has a terrible rendition of the .50cal machine gun--it looks like a toy. However, if you've got $20 (USD) to spare, Verlinden's .50cal makes a nice replacement.

The main parts of the kit are molded entirely out of resin. This includes
the receiver, tripod center and feet, and gun barrel parts. The coolest thing is the etched brass which assembles into an amazingly realistic copy of the actual ammunition can holder that goes on the left side of the gun. Now, this isn't easy to assemble! In fact, you can see they don't show it on the box cover. I got this kit from Great Models Webstore. |
