Breeders?
1.First of all, buy a kitten as near to home as possible.
Some of these breeders do not want you to vist. They
will tell you it is because they don't want you to bring
disease into their cattery. Tell them that you will take
off your shoes and disinfect your hands. If they bring
one kitten upstairs for you to buy, forget it.
You want to see all the kittens and inhabitant.
2.Check the fur, does it have scabs and lose of hair?
Usually this is a sign of ringworm.
3.Check for fleas behind the head. If you see little
black specks like black pepper, this usally is flea dirt.
4.If you are buying from an internet site have the
breeder take a picture of the kitten on a piece of
something of your choice. Like a dollar bill or
plate. There has been a rash of stolen pictures lately.
Often these poeple don't have any kittens, just stolen
pictures.
5.If the breeder lives in Texas for instance don't
fall for the scam of sending the money to Cameron,
Africa Via Western Union.
6.Deposits?? The only time a deposit is exceptable
is if you found the kitten of your dreams but
the breeder says it is too young to leave Mom.
If you think you will spend the money set aside
for the kitten, open a kitten account. Your not a child
you can handle your oun money!!!
7.Non-refundabl deposits only assures the seller,
that you will not buy a kitten from someone else!!
Buyers have sent the deposits (of $500.00 and more)
and payments (of $2500.00 or more) to fancy
web sites with no response after weeks and weeks
of e-mailing! A lawyer can get your payment back but
Non-refundables deposits are just that.
8.If you think you might be breeding this kitten
be sure and get the breeding rights now. Some will
charge you $2000.00 for breeding rights later on.
If you have been involved in a scam
in some other way, please let us know.
It will be added to this web site.
Your name will never be revealed.
