| Interview:Kim Dawson So then Paul, how's it going now the dust's settled? Paul: Very well. We're just ready to progress right now. It's a matter that's been dealt with. Obviously people are going to bring it up and talk about it but we feel we'd like to move on. It's a serious thing. We're not trying to brush it under the carpet. What do you think when you look back? Paul: It was stupid. As I've said we want to move on and the path's just greener. Hopefully this single will do well and we can get on with promoting that. You're flinging yourselves into the dancing with 'Don't Stop Movin'', eh? Hannah: Yeah! I like dance music. So what are your views on flares? Hannah: Like 'em! Any good memories of school discos? Hannah: They were as good as school discos get really. They're good at the time but looking back you think, 'What did I do? Why did I snog that boy?'. You learn from them. Do you ask guys to dance or do you wait for them to make the first move? Hannah: I don't really go out on the pull! I haven't done that in a while actually. I'd never just see a guy in a club and go, 'Do you want to dance?'. I'd feel a bit uncomfortable if he asked me so I wouldn't like either. I prefer to meet people through friends. They say you can tell a lot about a man who can dance... Hannah: Ahh, but I think it's quite cute if they really go for it and they can't dance. It doesn't bother me. If a guy can dance it can be quite sexy but also often if they can dance well they do like to show it off and that can often be a turn off I find. I actually haven't found a guy who is a really good dancer who I like. Not for the dancing thing - it's good, but their personality with it doesn't seem to often go. Any good mover in pop that you fancy? Hannah: That guy in 'Liquid Dreams', the more rocky one with kinda dreads. (That'll be Jacob from O-Town, then - Ed) I think he's quite nice. A funky little dancer. Some songs NMEPOP.COM reckons 'Don't Stop Movin'' sounds a bit like, not that that's a bad thing: 'Music' - Madonna 'Vogue' - Madonna 'Step Back In Time' - Kylie 'Play That Funky Music' - Wild Cherry 'Give Me The Night' - George Benson 'Billie Jean' - Michael Jackson ...and loads of other ace stuff. What's the biggest dance slip-up you've made? Hannah:I've never fallen over. Just done a completely different move I suppose. Everyone goes back and I go forward! You get used to learning routines. It's not too bad. I used to do dancing when I was little and the more you do it the easier it gets. But because I gave it up for a bit when I went back to it for S Club 7, I actually found it a little bit difficult then all of us found it easier. We're alright now. We're not good but we manage. It's not a hassle or anything. Paul: I get our routines wrong all the time. Ever been a victim of dancing with an embarrassing relative at a wedding? Hannah:I haven't been to that many weddings. Paul: No, I don't think so. You've got your first tour coming up this summer so who's gonna be the least prepared? Paul: Me. I'll be running around going hoop-la, hoop-la, hoo! Hannah: I'm looking forward to it. The tour's definitely been the main thing that we wanted to do since we joined the band. I'm looking forward to the rehearsals actually, just knuckling down and maybe trying to get fit a little bit more and I might feel better. Is it working out and healthy eating from now on then? Paul: We'll try but not as yet. I'm captain junk food. I'm probably going to watch what I eat otherwise I might die. What would be your ideal piece of S Club merchandise on sale at the shows? Hannah: Oh, I haven't had that question before. Tomatoes would be quite funny so the kids can throw them to their favourite member. So I wouldn't get tomatoed - I'd get off. That would be quite funny. Rachel would be splatted on the floor. What will you be demanding for your dressing rooms? Hannah: Absolutely nothing. Just some water. I've got my own little bits that I carry with me so if I want anything I'll have it with me. Paul: PlayStation, PlayStation games, rollerblades, go-karts, maybe one of those small flying helicopters. Hopefully we'll 'Bring The House Down' - track number three on the album '7', and we'll 'Raise The Roof', track number four on the new album. No, it's not actually. I'm lying. We haven't got a track called 'Raise The Roof'. I could write one though. You'll be travelling in style we presume? Paul: I think we're going cheap. I really wanna try one of those big tour buses but we haven't got those. I think they're too expensive. We'd need two. Didn't 'Popstars' help you flog more copies of 'Reach'? Hannah: It's quite funny 'cos it came across as a really difficult song to sing. It did give the song another lease of life. You do look like Suzanne, by the way... Hannah: I always get told I look like people. I don't think I do. I think people just see the short blonde hair and the fat, round face - not her, me! They say I look like Baby Spice, don't they, but if people really look... Tina's been compared to Kym because she has black hair and Rachel was Myleene. It's all something to write about at the end of the day. It's all a bit boring to me. |
