Members of popular British pop group , S Club 7 were rehearsing for their upcoming British tour when this phoner took place. We hooked up with Paul Cattermole , the dark-haired 23-years-old known for his bad-boy image.
Some of you may ask "Why not the gorgeous female members , Tina Barrett , Hannah Spearritt , Rachel Stevens and Jo OMeara , who were recently featured on the cover of FHM magazine?"Well , we were told that Pauls handphone gave the best reception , so there. Besides ,it was more fun to interview Paul , who together with the group members Jon Lee and Bradley McIntosh , had a run-in with the authorities recently.
The three male members of S Club 7 released a statement later apologizing to their fans for being "stupid" and said they deeply regretted the pot-smoking incident.
As ear-pierced Paul picked up our call , we were greeted with the loud , short hello amidst screaming , giggling and talking from group members in the background.
"We are rehearsing for our tour which begins in May 19.We will perform 19 songs including one cover version. Its gonna be a surprise , " Paul said after introducing himself."We hope to extend the tour to Asia next year and look forward to seeing our fans there , " he said."The group has been rehearsing for three weeks."
The latest single from S Club 7 , Never Had A Dream Come True , is getting strong airplay on local radio stations."Do you hear that guys?"Paul screamed to the others , saying ,"our fans in Malaysia love our songs and are looking forward to seeing us."Naturally , the other S Club 7 members screamed with joy.
After the tour , the group will start shooting its yet untitled debut comedy movie. "Its gonna be a bit like SpiceWorld the Movie , but we havent decided on the plot. And we wont be playing ourselves , "Paul said.
Among stars reported to be in the movie are Alan Rickman as the groups hard-hearted manager , British radio host , Zoe Ball and TV presenter Cat Deeley. The film is the brainchild of the bands manager , Simon Fuller, who plucked the 7 from 10000 hopefuls across Europe.Fuller previously managed the Spice Girls.
One things for sure , this team , comprising choreographers , theater actors , models and musicians , can really act.The members were first featured on a British TV show called S Club 7 in Miami which chronicles the adventures of seven friends working in a Miami hotel who hope to get a big break in showbiz.
That TV show was their first big break. With the release of the groups self-titled album , it won many accolades , including Best newcomer at the 2000 Brit Awards. The seven bubbly teenagers were also hailed as the group with the fastest rise to international stardom in Britain since the Spice Girls.
So what has changed in Pauls life?
"I now have more food in my fridge. I still go out shopping but only after wearing a disguise , "said Paul , who also wears a nipple-ring , we were told.
On the pot-smoking incident , Paul said that , "We move on from there. We have learnt our lesson and it was a stupid thing to do."Understandably , he refused to elaborate any further.Instead , he talked about the groups upcoming third album but doesnt know much about it "because we are still in the midst of discussion."

Thanks so much to Firah for taking the time to type this article for SClub4Ever.
