Dennis Prager asks the question: Do you want your child to be happy, smart, successful or good? Without a doubt, the answer for us is "good". Of course, we want our children to succeed in school, their careers, their lives. However, we also want our students to have "gutteh neshamas", good souls. We want our students to know that they have a job to do-to use their "smarts" and successes to work in partnership with God for tikkun olam, the repair of our world.
And so...influenced by the Shredderman series by Wendelin Van Draanen, we have launched this site to publicize kids "catching kids in the act"-in the act, that is, of doing mitzvot-acts of kindness and tzedakah.
This website is dedicated to the children of the Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford who teach and lead by their acts of kindness and justice. Shred on! |
