I seriously doubt that you have not seen the film yet, but below is the actual story of the film, well from my view.
A long time ago in a galaxy, far, far away a small planet caled Naboo is being held hostage by a group calling theirselves the Trade Federation. A Republic ship with negotiators arrives on one of the blockade ships. The negotiators are two Jedi Knights, Qui-Gon Jinn, an older man, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, a young brash apprentence. Kept waiting for several minutes the Trade Viceroy on the ship summons his boss Darth Sidious, who comes across like the Emperor, and he commands the viceroy to kill the Knights. Witht heir Jedi skills, the two escape almost certain death from poison gas and Battle Droids. The two end up in the main hangar bay with a view of a possible invasion force. The two hitch a ride to the planet to get to the Queen of the planet first.
With the Knights out of the way, the invasion begins, with droids everywhere on the way to the Naboo Palace. Making a break for it, Qui-Gon literally runs into Jar Jar Binks, a very unnimble Gungan. As the two Knights are reunited, Jar Jar informs them of his home city, an underwater city. They go there, even tough Jar Jar faces certain death being an exile. They try to convince the leader of the Gungans, a heavy set fellow named Boss Nass to help, but he theinks that the Naboo are bad and want to harm his people. Through a "Jedi Mind Trick", Qui-Gon conivnces Boss Nass to give them a transport and have Jar Jar under the charge of Qui-Gon.
Meanwhile the droids take over the palace as Queen Amidala, a young woman, is taken capture herself. As the Knight arrive at the city of Theed, They find the Queen's entourage empowered by droids. They are of no concern, as the Knights cut through them as if they were butter. In oreder to stop this invasion, the Queen decides she needs to make an audience with the galactic senate on the planet Coruscant. The only means of escape is to free the Queen's transport ship, a sleek silver star-ship in the main hangar. In the hangar, droids are guarding the ship and several pilots. No problem again for the jedi, as the ship escapes the planet, heading for a droid ship blockcade. A laser from the blockcade knocks out the ship's shields and hyperdrive. A group of astromech droids are dispatched to repair the damage. All but one are blasted from the ship, as the droid repairs the shield. The ship, now with but a little energy, must make a stop on a planet called Tatooine, a desert planet.
