Online Class 5 - Susan's log for the TWT Enterprise

Monday class for me got off on the wrong foot. I had a dentist appointment so I got to my online group meeting  a few minutes late. It was hard for me to pick-up on what was going on or what my group was discussing.  I said hello and asked what was going on and was completely ignored. So I read the comments until I was able to catch-up. I felt liked no one cared about me (which is probably so), but they didn't have to show it. My group worked on our group's web lesson evaluation and I tried to catch-up as quickly as I could. Even though I felt like some of the member were being inconsiderate. Anyway, at that point it was time to head over to the big online class with all members. We started that class by commenting on each group's school 2.0 project and overall, each group did a nice job. However, I thought my group's school was the best. Then each student took turns answering, "Is a webquest more of a direct instruction or inquiry approach?" Well, everyone kind of jumped in with there answers and it was a free for all. The answers were coming so fast, I couldn't tell when someone ended and someone else began. I figured, I mind as well jump in too, not noticing I cut someone off until a few people later. By then it was too late to apologize. Dr. S. must not have noticed I went before (because I cut someone off) and asked me to go again - in which I cut someone else off to respond. I really was not paying attention to the stop and go (or more) sign. I was very neglectful. However, I was called out by Dr. S. for having the wrong answer. My definition of Inquiry was for cooperative learning, which I apologized for. Overall, I could say, it was not such a good class for me considering I planned and prepared for it. But the main answer to the question, "Is a webquest more of a DI or Inquiry approach was both! We then returned to our groups to discuss our webquest project. My group meeting ended with us clarifying our next group project, which was to create a webquest; and each group member coming up with a question and a website for the answer on assistive technology. We would regroup on Wed. (our next meeting date), to start creating our group's webquest.
