Founded in 1982 - New Jersey's First Habitat Affiliate! Providing simple decent shelter and the opportunity for homeownership for over two decades in Salem County, New Jersey !

Salem County HFH

HfH of Salem County NJ is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to familiy partners at no profit and with no interest charged.

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - 'sweat equity' - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into the next project that we begin.

AFFILIATE NEEDS: In addition to building volunteers, our affiliate is seeking volunteer recruitment for the Family Selection,Family Support, Public Relations Resource Development and Site Selection committees. For additional information, please contact Amelia Salinas at the Habitat office at 856-299-8422 or via e-mail at [email protected]. CARPENTER CLUB: The Carpenter Club is a way an individual, group, church and business can contibute on an on-going basis. Members pledge $45 per square feet and the levels are bronze (1 foot), silver (2 feet), gold (3 feet), or platinum plus (4 or more). Each time our organization begins a building project, an invoice is sent out and a description of the project is listed as well as the family partner who will eventually become the homeowner once the home is complete.
