Pontedera

Pontedera is a small town with 20.000 inhabitants in Tuscany on the river Arno. It is 20 Kilometers far from Pisa and 25 Kms from the Tirreno sea. Near Pontedera there are Firenze, Siena, Lucca, important towns for their art treasures.

Pontedera is an old town, even if there are no ruins which can witness it. It was bombed during the II world war as there was a factory producing engines for airplanes: the Piaggio.

 

Pontedera is famous as it is the seat of PIAGGIO factory which now produces famous scooters all over the world, among them we make you remember the famous "Vespa".

Pontedera is both an agricoltural and industrial town and it is also an important trade center.

Every kind of school is present in Pontedera, nursery, primary, junior secondary school, high secondary school.
