and wellness promoting programs.
Women on Weights
An educational program to encourage more female participation in weight training and increase awareness of its importance and role in muscular balance and injury prevention.
The workshop objective is to become confident in working all the major muscle groups in a variety of methods, from tubing, to machines, free weights and bodyweight.  Participants will become knowledgeable in basic anatomy terms and proper body mechanics. 
Test-A-Week
A different fitness assessment test will be featured, each week
All tests contribute to a complete picture of how effective your current workout is.
The Lean Bowl
A
10-week football-theme incentive fat-loss contest.
Team players get an initial and ending body fat composition analysis, and should weigh-in each week.  Teams will advance yardage determined by pounds lost.   A maximum limit is established to encourage 'safe' weight loss, and penalties may be incurred if lean mass is lost.
"Strive for a Prize"
 
This is an on-going incentive program that allows members to earn points (automatically) towards prizes, by recording their workouts within the computer tracking program.
  
    This computer program allows members to track activities, and evaluate workouts.

THE SCHAUMBURG SCREAM!
Get prepared to journey on this scary path of varied exercises through the haunted fitness trail.  The Halloween themed game is designed to promote cross training, prompt you to learn and try new equipment and exercises, and encourage asking questions of the staff, with a drop of competition.

The first to survive this eerie tale of monsters and ghouls,
and reaches the safety of the haunted mansion, wins!

Just the thing to keep you motivated ... The Cross-Country Fitness Race,
from New York to San Francisco (5380miles).  Includes outside workouts, the objective is to earn 'fitness miles' by exercising consistently and at the proper intensity to advance across the continental USA.  It�s easy and bonus miles are awarded for workout frequency.
Nutrition Trivia
Test your knowledge and enter to win a T-shirt.
Exercise for at least 20 minutes, and answer the posted nutrition question.
(a new question posted every 2-3 days)

THE 12 DAYS OF FITNESS (December)
Only one sign off per day, in any order.
To be eligible to win you must have each health & fitness activity signed off by the staff.
All completed activity sheets will be used in a drawing to get a prizewinner.
Get it all in about in 30 minutes !   Holiday Survivor Workout
  (3 min. cardio stations, 1-1/2 min. resistance stations)

You must move quickly between stations.
Use lighter than average weight amounts- down-grade as necessary.
Ask staff for help at any time!
Please warm up for 10 minutes (cardio machine of your choice) before beginning.
Then, jump in at any point on the circle of exercises!
NUTRITION 101- and Why Diets Fail
An educational 30 minute power-point presentation, with plenty of handouts, that will throw out the useless propaganda and offer real tools to understanding how proper nutritional guidelines can make the difference for the rest of your life !  
FREE to everyone, including non-members ! 
The "Reach your Peak" four-week, quick training, incentive contest.

Teams of 3-4 will urge each other through the health and fitness tasks, and progressive goals.
This is an expedition up the elevations of the worlds highest mountains, and personal obstacles.
