I Began photographing probably right after high school. Throughout many hikes I wished to bring home better reminders of where I had been, and I began to study what many other photographers compositional styles were, what made one photograph better than another, and how I could improve upon my own.
In November of 1997 I bought my first camera, a 35mm Cannon Rebel G, with a 28-80 focal length lens, a polarizer and a tripod, I'd later add a 75-300mm lens. These tools I'd soon outgrow as my understanding of what it takes to make great images came about. I went from shooting negative film to shooting slides in late 1998, the result was a lot better idea of my exposures, my capabilities, and better results, plus I can see my work projected on the wall.
Recently I was able to buy an old speed graphics large format 4x5, which will result in a drastic improvement upon the image quality especially when enlarged. I'll have my first images posted soon.
I hope to someday have my work published and maybe that will lead to being able to become a full time photographer.
