Kelly's Heroes

The plan is to drive North through enemy held territory to Clairemont.  This is a rear echelon, so the Germans won't be expecting any enemy activity.  You have 3 days to get into Clairemont and find the bank before anyone realizes your unit is missing.

Your own recon and intelligence reports that the area is held by 2nd rate infantry.  Clairemont however, is guarded by 3 Mark VI Tigers and support troops of 40 or so men.  There is also a river to cross before getting into Clairemont.  A railroad bridge found on the stolen recon photos shows a bridge still intact.

Whoever makes it to the bank will get an equal share of the gold.  The fewer the better.  Crapgame has fully equipped and supplied the unit.  He decided to come along to protect his investment.  Mulligan has also decided to try and make it to Clairemont with 2 mortars although he won't have any transport.

Oddball should arive by nightfall with his 3 Shermans according to the plan.

Weather is mixed and rain is possible.



GAME NOTES:

It is assumed you have watched the movie.  

Since the 105 halftrack was not in the game the mortar carrier was substituted.
Kelly and Big Joe are not officers, but have to be due to game limitations.
The bank is at the far North end of the operations map.  Keep driving toward the North edge every turn.  The bank is landmarked.
Consider returning to friendly lines if Kelly or Big Joe don't make it.
A group move will take you through the 1st town recreating the scene in the movie.
A TRP is provided for Mulligan to shell the town.
The MG jeep carries a passenger.  Since the patch, if the passenger disembarks, he cannot then embark on the jeep.

The bank is the main objective.  Whoever ends the game holding the bank with an Allied victory determined by the compuer, will get a share of the gold.

Oddballs advance:

Oddball has advanced down the railway line.  He has enlisted the band and an engineer unit to construct a bridge due to the railway bridge being destroyed.  Oddball added these extra troops on his own accord and will count if they make it to the bank.  Kelly and his men will be furious if they have to split the gold with them.

To claim true victory, you must duplicate the movie ending and have only Kelly's units make it to the bank with an Allied victory determined by the computer.
