Edward Arlington Robinson
o (22 Dec. 1869-6 Apr. 1935)
o Also known as Edwin
o Born in Head tide, Maine, son of Edward Robinson
o Went to Harvard University for several years
o He shortly later moved to New York and began to write poetry
o Was a poet in very modern poetry areas
o Did little paying jobs in the subway and customs businesses
o Made his way through a variety of boarding housings all over New York City
o His collected poems  won Robinson a Pulitzer prize
o Also received a degree as doctor of literature at Yale University
o Had a variety of long and short poems some were:
     
o  Captain Craig (1902)
      o  Lancelot (1920)
      o  The Man Who Died Twice (1924)
      o Tristram (1927)

o Had much respect from a lot of his peers who knew him dearly
o Won 2 Pulitzer Prizes for, The Man Who Died Twice, and Tristram
o  Was elected to hold a position in the National Academy of Arts and Letters
o Never had the chance to get married and settle down
o One of his main things he enjoyed in life was spending time with his close friends
o He died of cancer in a New York hospital
o One of his most famous poems in literature books is Richard Cory
